A complete 400 metric tons per day (TPD) sulfuric acid plant is available for sale. Construction began in 1995, commissioned in August 1996, and operated until 2007, when it was shut down due to competition from imported acid from Korea and Japan.
The plant uses molten sulfur as feedstock (sourced from a nearby refinery) and features a Double Conversion, Double Absorption design. It also includes a co-generation system producing 520 kVA of power using 30 bar superheated steam (11 MT/h) to run the main acid and cooling water circulation pumps.
Key Features & Equipment:
-
Converter charged with V₂O₅ catalyst by Topsoe Haldoe – 3+2 conversion, 98% SO₂ efficiency
-
